Mobility Ramps Benefits for Wheelchair Minivans |
|
Ramps are either manually operated or automated. A manual ramp can be used in conjunction with a high sidewalk, whereas the automated may have some difficulty deploying onto one. Manual ramps are often integrated into the minivans as well and may be kept in the floor or folded. An in-floor ramp is stowed in a storage area within the minivan’s floor; unlike a folded ramp, it will not obstruct the vehicle’s doorway. Like lifts, both manually operated and automated ramps are usually easy to use. While more physical power is required to negotiate a manual ramp than to use a lift, these ramps are moderately sloped. In general, ramps are less expensive to maintain than lifts, as they require little or no maintenance. |
