Floor length
Rear-entry minivans have either long or short floors. The long floor is up to 96 inches in length, whereas the short floor is 48 to 70 inches long. The long floor rear-entry minivan can accommodate two wheelchairs, while the short floor version of this vehicle can transport one wheelchair.
Mobility device
In order for a mobility device to gain entrance into most rear-entry conversions, the device must not be wider than 31 inches across the wheels. The wheelchair’s length should also be determined using the same technique that was described above in “Side-entry lowered-floor minivans.”
Mobility device user’s height
The height of someone seated in a wheelchair cannot exceed the height of the mobility device’s entryway, which is 56 inches at most in a rear-entry minivan.
Front-entry lowered-floor minivans
Floor length
A front-entry minivan has floor space for one wheelchair at the front of the vehicle.
Mobility device
The wheelchair cannot be wider than the width of this vehicle’s ramp, which is 27 inches. A ramp that is 30 inches wide will be available in the future. Please measure the mobility device using the method described in “Side-entry lowered floor minivans.”
Mobility device user’s height
The minivan’s doorway is 52.5 inches high. Accordingly, the height of the person while sitting in the wheelchair must be under that figure to enter the minivan.
