Side-entry lowered-floor wheelchair accessible minivans – Other considerations |
|
Garages and driveways designed for one minivan will also not provide enough room (specifically, 8 feet of open space) for the ramp to be deployed from a side-entry vehicle. Furthermore, it could be difficult to find a place for wheelchair users to disembark on a one-way street, as ramp or lift access is usually found on only one side of a side-entry minivan. It may be arduous to position people who are in wheelchairs in the seating areas, as they must be maneuvered to face forward after entering the minivan. |
