Wheelchair Accessible Mobility Minivan Types

Consumers can choose between new and used side-, rear-, front-, and, in the future,  side/rear-entry wheelchair accessible minivans that use manual or automated ramps to enter the vehicle.

Side-entry lowered-floor minivans

A person who uses a wheelchair enters from the second row passenger’s side. He or she may be accommodated in the front or second row of seating in this converted vehicle.

Rear-entry lowered-floor minivans

In rear-entry minivans, passengers in wheelchairs enter the vehicles from the rear. They are then positioned in the second or third row.

Front-entry lowered-floor minivans

These minivans will soon be available to the Canadian consumer. In a front-entry minivan, the person using a wheelchair enters the vehicle from its front side. They are then seated in the front row.

Side/Rear-entry minivan

Side/rear-entry minivans will be introduced to the North American wheelchair accessible vehicle market in the near future. More information about these vehicles will be available at a later date.
